Does anyone know how to go about starting their own Wedding Planning
business? Or finding anything out on if they are even able to? I want to work
from home, so I can always be with my family, but I'm not even sure if I
would actually be able to.

a home business but from personal experience I work from home most of the
time but I do have my own office space. It really helps me get into the work
mode on those days when I just want to be at home.

customer service? Are you the right kind of person that would even like to be
a wedding planner. I have a wedding planning business and it is tons of
marketing, emails, customer contact and you do have to work mostly weekends.
Also it is a great idea to work for someone else in the industry so you know
how the business works, which can save you tons ramp-up time in learning how
it all works. Good luck.

business it is that you wish to do online. Take out the time and effort to do
so to familiarize yourself with the market so that you will understand it in
the long run. Hope this helps!

As you mention that you are willing to stay with your family along with your
work then this is not the suitable one. You will face lot's of journey during
the work coz wedding planner is the key who manage all the stuff's and carry
out in a manner. So think upon it again.
Thanx.

continue to operate it from home because my clients on the east and west
coasts, as well as a couple in Europe, can call whenever they need to. I can
also work on the business late at night or early in the morning.
That said, if you want to always be with your family, this is not the
business for you. Most events occur on weekends or in the evenings. You may
put in 18 or 20 hours just on a weekend. You will also be expected to meet
with vendors with your clients. Those meetings, particularly for weddings,
often occur in the early evenings, after the bride and groom get off work.
You will also need to meet with potential brides and grooms. If you have
children or pets, you may not want them coming into your home. Therefore, you
will either have to travel to them or meet them at a central location.
The turn-over rate nationwide for event planners is less than two years,
largely because of: 1. poor planning, 2. under financing, and 3. the burnout
rate. Unless you live in a very large metropolitan area, your business will
be part-time. You will be a luxury; you can't charge so much that a potential
client will decide to spend the money on more food or nicer decor and let
"Aunt Martha" act as wedding coordinator. The business is also fairly
seasonal. Most weddings occur in late spring, summer, and fall with the
bookings and planning occurring in the winter. Be sure you do your market
research to be certain this is the right business for you.
