local events where we could network and learn what owner small business

Hi Tom, As mentioned to Johnny, reaching out to SBA's resources partners can be a good way to find out what's happening in your area. SCORE, for instance, is a good place to start: http://www.score.org/. Your local office (http://www.sba.gov/about-offices-list/2) and SBA Direct (http://www.sba.gov/sba-direct) may also be helpful.

Reaching out to SBA's resources partners can be a good way to find out what's happening in your area. SCORE, for instance, is a good place to start: http://www.score.org/.
