Hi everyone, I am attempting to start a pet services business; specifically in-home consulting for parrot care and also training services. SInce this is going to be a small, part-time endeavor with minimal start up costs, I was going to go with a sole proprietorship. My two main questions so far are 1) what kind of liability insurance should I get 2) do I really need a whole business plan if I am using my own money to start up and do not expect to look for investors? Regarding the insurance question, my main concern once I start is the potential for injury (parrots bite, I do not want to be held liable) and also disease (although I will take the necessary precautions on my end, parrots can carry highly contagious, terminal viruses/disease that I do not want an owner blaming me for) I appreciate any and all advice you have to give me on this! Thanks in advance! - Nancy
