i am in the very early stages of starting my first business. i'm looking for tips, tricks, pointers, advice, anything to help me get started on the right foot. my plan is a homebased business selling a product. im looking first and foremost at funding to start and register my business. grant oppurtunities would be my number one choice but if that fails then where do i go from there? where is the best place to find legit grants for statup businesses? registering?

Hi there,  Congrats on taking these first steps toward starting a business! In case you haven't already, check out some of our resources for starting a business. You'll find a guide to help you determine if you're ready, details about writing a business plan, and preparing business finances. We also have a section about loans and grants, which will provide you with some good information.    Another good place to start is with one of SBA resource partners: SCORE, Small Business Development Centers or Women’s Business Centers. These organizations provide free business counseling and training. To find your nearest SBA resource partner, enter your zip code at SBA Direct.
