Have you registered a business name and entity type with your state or county
agency that registers businesses? That should be your first step. You will
need a business name in order to apply for additional licenses.

Then, check with your city clerk's office to find out if you need a business
license. Some cities license only a few select business types; others license
all businesses, even if they occur entirely online.

You will also need to obtain a sales tax permit if you have not yet done so,
assuming your state collects sales tax on in-state sales.

I will guess that you do. You want to check with the state agency that
collects sales taxes (they probably want you to collect sales tax on stuff
you sell in state if you operate in a state with sales tax).

You may also need a business license from the municipality or county where
you operate.

I don't believe so I know plenty of people with amazon and eBay stores who do
not have a business license. If you attended to open a physically store then
yes you will need one.
