Do I need to start a business to sell DVDs? My original DVD's`

Hi,

 I plan to screen a film I made in Michigan.  I want to sell my DVD's at the event and I want to do it legally.  I also want to sell DVD's of my film on my website legally.  What type of business do I need to start? Or do I just need licensing?  What is I plan to screen in different cities in the U.S. and sell my DVD's at the screenings?  What do I need to do?  I also plan to donate part of the proceeds in a giveaway for attendees?  HELP!!!! Thank you.

Well, you could just sell them yourself and claim it as extra income on your tax return; however, you should create an LLC to operate the sales through. This is a simple task, just contact\visit your secratary of state website or facility to setup an LLC.
