It depends on how you use those domains. Think of domains as your branded products. Every domain name is like a different brand. The brands are owned by one company. In this particular case, you only need one LLC. On the web sites, you would have terms and privacy policy that ties the agreements to the LLC itself. For example, 'Copyright 2010 My Own Company LLC'. Now, if you don't want to use your company name on certain web sites and you still want legal entity protection, then you would register the domain under a DBA that is linked to your LLC. So then, separatename.com now can perform legal contract bindings and negotations under the 'Separate Name' name, for instance. A DBA gives you legal representation and can hide your original company name. DBAs gives you a legal way to do business under that name while a brand must belong to the company that owns it. So with a DBA, you can open bank accounts under that DBA name. You can enter into contracts with that fictitious name.You only have to show your DBA and never have to use your primary business name. So the answer is that you can go either way. It all depends on what your strategy is, whether you want the different domains to relate to each other through your LLC name, whether you will be opening new bank accounts for those domains separately, etc. I believe the primary question is whether you want to treat a domain as a separate business (= use a DBA) or as a brand (= use your LLC). Excellent. A lot of IT guys I know have multiple domains and while most of them are personal in nature this is something to file away in the future. Kudos!

I personally have never found the need to do seperate DBAs with websites, most of my websites have blank whois information anyways, so it's not all that important on my end.
