They are right, you need a business plan, you can visit your small business development center, they should have some templates for you, the best thing about a business plan, is that it gets you thinking, and having everything written down allows you to think about all facets of the business, so all the important stuff is all road mapped out.

Sounds like a great idea! you want to definitely educate yourself on how to establish business credit and getting and LLC or INC. first this will keep the business seperate from yourself. The best thing you can do is: 1. Visit a bakery far enough away from your town that they're not really a competitor. 2. Interview the owner and ask them a ton of questions; they've already gone through all of this and often people are flattered and happy to help someone else succeed. If you want to focus on making Bombonieres, another thing you could do would be to contact all the local caterers that do Weddings and see if you can line up a few of them as potential customers, they would make a good 'channel' through which to distribute your product.
