Does anyone have any information about the rules and regs for the length of time that a company must support its product with spare parts? This would be after any potential warranty period covered by the Magnuson; Moss Warranty Act. In the mid 70's, the number was assumed to be 5 years and that still seems to be what most companies use.

Service contracts are similar to, but not the same as, warranties. I found some information from the FTC on servive contracts.
