In 1985 I installed an energy management system, UtiliTRACK, in the ice arena I was managing. The rink was using $140K a year for the six months a year that it was open. Within two years the business was open year round spending $42K a year on utilities. After using the system for eight more years with a combined savings of over a million dollars I joined UtiliTRACK as a sales rep . We targeted large industrial manufacturing of which we were fairly successful. However, due to the cheap cost of fuel, the lack of interest in reducing our dependence on foreign oil and reducing carbon emissions, the company slowly faded away. It is a proven methodology to reduce energy costs from 20 to 70% in multiple facilities.
We have seen a huge change in mind-set in the last few years and see a great opportunity to reintroduce UtiliTRACK to energy consuming companies where reducing energy costs would benefit their bottom line. This system can verify energy savings from energy projects keeping claims of savings;hones-.
We are good at reducing energy costs, but we need help in locating funding. Where do we start looking for a grant, State or Federal to revitalize this incredible energy management system? Do we hire a grant writer or are there other options in acquiring funding for startups?
