My name is Kelvin Morrison, I am 25 years old, and I do not own my own business. However, I am in the process of researching and creating my business from scratch. I plan to start a web and graphic design company that caters specifically to the home-based business, but also will include small businesses such as churches and more established small businesses who just have a need for a professionally designed web page or business card. In addition to websites and business cards, I will provide event flyers, logo designs, cd inserts and designs, and general web maintainence. As I further my business, I may even provide t-shirts, polos, and button-collar shirts to provide professional uniformity with creativity that will attract more business for my customers. I consider myself very tech savvy, but I will rely heavily on the expertise of my Uncle who has done graphic design work for over 19 years. This will be my first business attempt, and I hope to use this site as both a learning and networking tool to help build the foundations for success.
A whole lot of STUFF you are offering there. Why not wrap all that stuff up into a neat little package and start your business today with the simple printing up of some business cards? Call yourself a Branding Consultant, a one stop shop for the Small Business owner looking to brand themselves, their products and their web presense. I like start ups that can be done on the CHEAP...LOL.
Just a thought...and, would allow you to sub contract out all that other stuff such as the shirts and things...a lot easier to establish a relationship with someone ALREADY in the business of uniforms, than being in the business yourself. Your biggest asset is your time...figure out ways to max that out by letting others do your production work for you. Anyone can get a shirt produced, but a very small group of people have the design skills necessary to really brand a company or product.
Lastly, start signing your posts with a link to a sample of your work under your signature so people (business people needing your services) can see what you do!

I encourage you to get feedback from other members which may help you flesh out your business plan.
