Establishing Contracts

I am a start-up SDVOSB Licensed Property Broker(Freight Transportation not Real-estate).  I am looking for any suggestions for the best method(s) of submittal for contract consideration to manufactures as their transportation provider or as part of their overall transportation strategy. I am considering some sort of Offer of Service(OOS); Request for Submission(RFS) submittal form. If anyone can provide guidance or counsel it would be greatly appreciated.

Your self-identification as a SDVOSB suggests that you are interested in the federal marketplace where that status has some significance. First, it is useful to understand where you are in your marketplace. At http://www.naics.com/naics48-49.htm you will find a listing of all the freight transportation NAICS codes with the number of companies registered for each. Depending on your specific NAICS code, you can do a search through FBO.gov to find out which agencies are buying that service. If you find an agency, you can contact the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization and find out who the Vet Rep is for that agency and get them to serve as your advocate. On the commercial side, I would start with a good web presence. That's where people go first. Also, I would do a CCR search for businesses that produce freight who are also listed as VOSB or SDVOSB and solicit them directly. Jos A.
