Hi BAJ Christine has provided you with some great links, if what you are looking to do is to eventually start/register a business locally. If you are just looking to buy property in MA: 1. I do not believe that we have any restrictions whatsoever in MA regarding transfer of funds, except that you will have to fill in a declaration form, declaring the origin of the funds. The main purpose of this form is for the IRS to determine whether your source of funds is through (or as a reult of) a US-based business, and if so has there been any possibility of tax evasion, etc. So the transfer itself will not be taxed, besides any bank transfer fee, etc, which will vary from bank to bank. 2. At the time of acquisition, wou will be responsible for all closing costs, which include any real estate/property taxes etc., insurances, and other excises. 3. Though you may own property freely in the USA, it does not give you the right to reside in the USA, and/or transact business in the USA. For these purposes, wou will have to either register a business, or reside in the USA under a number of visa programs currently administered by the US Gov., ranging from regular visitors visa, to work visas.
