A 'for-profit' health salon wants to do a community services but would like to have a grant for this since the business is not wealthy. The community services could easily be for elderly, disabled, disadvantaged or other groups. Would it be best to try to get a partnership with a non-profit or government agency? I saw something about 'social ?' that I didn't see more about (cuz I didn't want to pay a membership - hah).
You will probably need to have a non-profit designation - either your own or a partnership with one. Federal grants are probably out of the question - but, you could attempt to convinence your local community development department to apply for a grant on your behalf - provided that the service you intend to provide is needed in your community.
You can also seek out other non-profit private foundations that offer grants and see what their requirements are. but, I think that most will only work with other non-profits.
