funding for food banks

I am writing to introduce myself, and my organization ~ Helping Hand Worldwide, As the Director of Helping Hand Worldwide, a non-profit organization based in South Orange County that provides food, clothing and basic life necessities, my volunteers and I have seen a 300 percent increase since January in the number of families who need assistance. That translates to more than 16,000 families a month who come to us for help due to loss of income.
We give these local community members the opportunity to work along side our volunteers to help divert the cost of their basic needs. While helping themselves, they are helping others. We are creatively solving a problem and generating community involvement at the same time. Helping Hand does not charge for the food and goods that we provide, but we do require participation from our able-bodied recipients. We are looking to tap into some Gov Grants for funding.
We are in need of space to house our food distribution headquarters, hold classes for students learning computer repair skills, securely park our three refrigerated trucks which were recently donated by Albertsons, and a facility in commercial/retail zoned section of the city where we can open a well-designed thrift store.
Any direction you can give us is greatly appreciated. With Every Best Wish!
