Hello, I am trying to get as much info as possible about starting a business. I'd like to start it in a gaming town, I'm a woman and I don't have any assets.
How do I go about finding loans,grants? Can I ask for them at the same time? Do I have to qualify with assets?
I have a precise business strategy I just need the backing.
Is it better to have a partner in this?
Where do I start, who would be the best person to consult about this?

Hi Kacie,
I can recommend a couple of resources to help you get started:
1) For general start up information, visit the 10 Steps to Starting a Business guide, which provides information on how to put together a business plan and the legal hoops you will need to jump through.
2) For finding loans and grants for which you might qualify, do a search on the Loans and Grants Search Engine. This tool provides information about Federal and state loan programs.
3) Also, the State and Local guides provide specific information about starting, financing and running a business in your state and local area.
What gaming town are you looking into? Gaming is usually regulated by your state or local government, and may require special licenses.
