Well I've been doing SEO for clients as well as for myself! I am not much clear about you topic actually. You want us to suggest a good SEO firm from which you want to hire some SEO services or you simple want to ask what SEO tacts should 1 follow ? If you want to do SEO for any site, yours or the client's its not a matter of fact. Simple check the recent backlinks, recent PR of the domain, its age etc. Then if you want to target a particular niche, goto google and search for your niche keywords. Make a check list of the top results, Analyze the top sites, and start working as they did. Simple as that. Hope this helps.

  Yoyo - You should choose your targets carefully and start with what's realistic. It looks like HP has their ink covered on SE's, Google for sure and a couple other than HP links got up on page one with Bing... but when you have to compete with HP.com, followed by Amazon, Wikipedia, etc... the odds on that being an easy summit are slim. You look at Cannon products and you see something completely different, it's up for grabs within the online retailers. I would keep doing this until I determined what I want to put my energy at. Lexmark is another brand with bigger players riding the top of the SERPs. My first step in this SEO campaign would be narrowing down where I'm going to take my first cut by what makes the most sense for the company. Take the budget and hit reasonable targets, rather than spread it out over any and all brands as well as broad match keywords. You want the most significant traction for your budget and resources Analyze the products which you stand the most to gain selling... assess the search traffic and sort that list by activity... study the players on the SERPs and resort that by the lowest hanging fruit. You could back into your strategy by laying all of this out then defining some success benchmarks. Once your target is painted and you know the plan of attack, you can take your first swing A couple comments about your homepage: - removing the 20+ lines of decorative comments in your page's header - pay close attention to all of the links on your page and determine which ones should be visible or not - take all of your scripts and link them through a .js file - analyze your page's content and see if there's some things you can turn into images to focus the topic - think about mixing up your optimized H3 tags in red so that it reads a little more natural A good SEO company should be the guide in between you and your goals and be able to connect those dots.

I think this is really “How Do I Choose an SEO” company.  I will make this real short and easy :) 1.    One of the best ways it to get personal referrals from people you know.   Most of my clients came from previous clients’ word of mouth.  Bottom line, you need to see the results of their work first.  Ask to call and speak with their current and past clients 2.    Ask to see a report from one of their past clients and then verify the information with that client.  If a SEO company wants your business, they will gladly do this 3.    Don’t be afraid to ask the SEO company what keywords THEY rank for.  Run away immediately if an SEO company tell you they don’t worry about ranking their own sites 4.    Ask if there is a money back guarantee if they don’t meet their goals.  While a SEO company should never guarantee rankings, they can guarantee that is there is NO material improvement then you are entitled to receive some or all of your money back 5.    Do not be pressured into signing any long-term contract; ask if there is a trial of some sort where you could try their services without being tied into a long-term contract.  Personally, I offer my clients month-to-month cancel anytime; If an SEO company is confident in their service they won’t need to hold you in a contract (personally speaking) 6.    Most important:  Figure out what each sale or customer is worth to you.  Then let the SEO Company know that this has to be a positive ROI (Return on Investment).  Basically if they are charging you $1,000 per month, they had BETTER be able to bring you $2,000 worth of business.  What’s the point of SEO if you aren’t making money? I often tell my clients that my first priority is to make sure that they are taking in more money than they are paying me.  Why?  Simply because a happy customer means more referrals.  Simple. 7.  Be sure that they are not going to use any Black hat or unethical techniques that are against the search engines TOS.

I wouldnt trust SEO companies at all. I dont think that thay can deliver the result that you need and I dont think that its worth the money.  But thats just my opinion

Thanks for the information. ill check your site out. The SEO world seems to be constantly changing and it really is hard to keep up with. Unfortunately its an ongoing business cost to ensure you remain competitive. The trouble is you never seem to get it exactly right.
