Grants really depend on who you are and what your business offers. If you are for profit - for get about it unless your local community really needs your services and your local government will solicit the grant funds on your behalf.
Financing a business is hard these days but it is not impossible if you arm yourself with kowledge about your products and options.

The only government grants available to for-profit businesses are for the development of new cutting-edge technology that is in the national interest through programs such as SBIR and STTR grants and a few grants from the USDA for new uses for agricultural products. Most businesses are started with loans, either from family and friends or from a bank if you have a good business plan, good credit, and proven work history in your field.
Hi!

There are government loans available, so please check out our Loans and Grants Tool to see which ones your business qualifies for.
