C'mon, Sylvia. $49 to post a 'request for funding' that may or may not ever get a dime? And you are promoting that here? at the SBA? You have got to be kidding. No, a much better option is track down the Kiva group in your area. Kiva.org is a legitimate organization that helps entrepreneurs. Just a few months ago it began opening its coffers to US projects as well as projects in third world countries. THERE IS NO CHARGE to join Kiva or to fund through them. If you will look into Kiva, you will discover that they do indeed lend in the US. They made the decision a few months back that there are a lot of underprivileged entrepreneurs in the US as well as in other parts of the world. If your business is so 'beneficial' I suspect it could have been funded as a non profit. Sorry, it doesn't get my vote. I've seen far too many of these kinds of sites on the web. Mary Ann, I will not attempt to change your mind about Preneuraholics.com and I never asked for your recommendation. But for others reading this I will clarify further. Preneuraholics Unite is about offering a different kind of funding option. There are several peer to peer LENDING companies (for profit). Even Prosper, who offers peer to peer lending, is out of reach for many people. Americans don't need another lending institution where they will be faced with yet more red tape. There are many sites that offer folks a chance to post a 'beg' for their various needs (most charge monthly fees). What Preneuraholics.com offers is a place for entrepreneurs to gather under a common cause, small business funding. Whatever means a business owner uses to secure funding, there will be a cost associated with that funding application. They understand that the fee associated with this funding request is part of the cost of their business startup. Preneuraholics Unite is a business with ongoing expenses. It is a self funded business that must charge a fee for the service it offers. That service being a platform from which to request funding. This concept has recieved overwhelming support and good wishes from various sources. The negative comments have been rare. People agree it is time for something new and innovative. Government funding for small business is 'all talk' for the little guy. Just read through the many, many posts here where people are looking for loans, grants, venture capital. They cannot get funded. Offering another viable option has been welcomed and appreciated by those that 'get' what this is about.
