Hello All:
I am, therefore I must be (Moody Blues?). Saw someone else from here has a blog where they declare themselves the Socrates of Small Business...thinking I should therefore by proxy and self declaration make myself the Guru of Small Business, and of course for BRANDING purposes the Small Business Guru...take a memo...can someone trademark those two for me?
I am out of work at the age of 53...more by personal choice than because of this burning and crashing economy we all find ourselves in. I do Green Consulting (scary huh?) for both homes and business. If you want to green yourself, drop me a note. Also do a lot of brain storming with entreprenuers...have worked for myself most of my adult (I use that term litely) life, and have had several successful small businesses. (Was actually a potter and sculptor for some 20 years, and until an attack took away some of my phsical skills did some very unique landscaping projects.)
More than happy to give FREE advice to those struggling to get something off the ground. That said, if you already have a successful business, get out your check book, as I am going to charge you $250 an hour for my time. (*note...I am willing to work for a lot less if it is a project I believe in, just not overly anxious to work for large corporations unless they are making it worth my while...they are so BORING as a general rule.)
I like good Single Malt Scotch (especially while playing Bridge), enjoy a good Merlot, and believe some of the best business ideas come to you while sitting around the campfire with friends doing bong hits...yes Bill Clinton, I did inhale. My one piece of advice to those wanting to start a business....go into something you love doing, and have fun along the way...otherwise, you are just wasting your time.
