Good business idea - take your business to them. Being a long time RVer, we have several mobile RV detailers that come to the RV parks and they do a great business. You can always find a SBDC or SCORE office in your area. They are free to use and can help you understand your state's laws - as they operate there as well.

Being mobile will have some good benefits to your customers since they won't need to go to a physical location and WAIT, which is very annoying in my opinion when it comes to getting your car detailed. You'll also save money since you won't need to have a lease on a business front property.   You'll want to county clerks office to find out about specific requirements in your county, you'll probably also want to contact your city hall to see if they have any special requirements. You can then contact your Secretary of State to find out more about business types that will be suit your business model.

Cyndi, What a wonderful niche idea! And although the residential market could be lucrative, you might also want to consider any commercial office building environments (where your marketing would be much easier, but you still may need the Landowner's approval). Anyway, I'm not familiar with your local laws and regulations in your particular part of Oregon, however, I'd suggest that you start your research very local (your city, village, town and/or county). And, in all likelihood, since you may be crossing municipal boundaries, I'd give thought to paying those places a visit as well (just to wear a belt and suspenders, if you get my drift). At first blush, it sounds like it could be a fairly simple business model, fun to execute and since you won't be actually moving the vehicles or creating water run-off, your insurance and permits shouldn't really be an issue...
