Hello
I am not educated in business nor have any college backround, what i do have
is the passion to help homeless animals, and save those in danger of
euthanization. I recently saw a television program that showed 2 million dogs
a year are destroyed in the U.S.,the disturbing part stays fresh in my mind
as i witnessed 10 beautiful dogs of all type being placed inside what
appeared to be a dumpster the lid closed and the man turned the gas on as you
can hear them crying about three minutes go by and the lid is opened and a
litter of puppies are placed on top of the dead dogs the lid closed and they
were destroyed also.
The impact this show had on me and my children is very strong and we need
help on where to start, any ideas wil be greatly appreciated

development center, womens business center or a SCORE office in your area.
Their services are free and they can evaluate your business plan and provide
direction. It sounds as if your idea may best be accomplished as a
non-profit. Starting a non-profit takes time and you must obtain approval
from the IRS before you can solicit funds.
I commend you on your desire to help the helpless in your community. Just be
aware that it will take time and money to start an animal rescue facility. In
the meantime, you might want to contact existing animal rescue organizations
in your area and volunteer to help. My sister operates a rescue and they are
always in need of people to foster rescued dogs, to transport them to their
new owners, to help with office and computer work, photograph new dogs,
update their website and much more. There are many ways you and your children
can become involved without starting your own facility.
