The government does not necessarily provide direct loans to people or businesses. There are some partner programs they use for rural development and the likes. You could try a SBA loan (these are government guaranteed - not direct loans). Call arounf to your local banks and se who offers these programs and ge their SBA package. Take that to a local SCORE or SBDC and let them help you fill it out. Know that this is a bad lending/financing market and if you don';t have both your personal affairs in order like your credit and debt levels as well as have some equity of your own or significant personal collateral and experience in running a business - this might be a hard sell for you. But, that does not have to stop you. When you find a weakness - look for way to either fix it or over come it.

Hi Emory, For any sort of healthcare operation you'll need to have very very robust insurance arrangements, also be sure to check all state and federal compliance matters relating to care for the elderly. If this is a business rather than a no-for-profit then I doubt you'll get a grant, but there may be SBA loan options for you.
