How can I set up a business address in US?

Hi,

 

We are from Singapore and would like to set up a business address in USA as we would like to bid for goods there.

 

The goods will be directed directly to the forwarder thus no delivery is needed to be made to the business address.

 

1) Do we have to be a US citizen in order to register our business in US?

 

2) We would need a business bank account as well.

    What are the steps to setting up a business bank account in USA?

 

3) What else should we look out for in terms of permits, licenses etc?

 

We really appreciate all the help we can get.

Hi Celine, Welcome to Business.gov! To answer your questions: 1. You do not have to be a US citizen to register your business in the US. Check out our blog on Starting a Business in the US as a Foreign National. 2. You can read up on setting up a bank account on Selecting the Right Bank for Your Small Business. The IRS also has good resources about bank accounts that you can check out. Lastly, a member also asked a similar question about setting up a bank account here that may be useful to you. 3. What industry will your business be in? Which state are you planning to set up your business? For permits, you can use the Permit Me Tool to generate a list. You can also look up licenses that your state requires. Let us know how your business goes!
