You will also need to secure liability insurance. The industry standard is $1 million. That will help protect you in the event that something goes wrong at a wedding. Should someone be injured or property damaged and someone decides to sue, they will sue anyone connected with the wedding. You may also find that venues in your area require you to have a copy of your insurance on file with them before you are allowed to hold an event at their facility. Because the weddings won't occur at your place of business (your home), your home owner's insurance will probably not cover your business.
