How do I make sure my business name is not being used worldwide?

Hello everyone.  I'm Laura my username is nclusiv which means inclusive environments are encouraged for individuals with developmental disabilities. 

 

I am starting an online retail store.  I may wish to sell outside of USA.  How do I make sure my business name of choice is not registered to someone else in the World?  Please advise.  I'm green.

Try getting and advice from any branding firm, they provide quality and unique company name that suits your needs. To start a business you have to know how to name a company and that is quite thing you have, your idea of looking for best store name could bring best afterward. What is your business name ? you can check it on name.com, if it available for you just buy it all. :)

Is your business name already patented? if not, patent it, search any same or similiar patented name in www.uspto.gov. After that, investigate domain in your business name, try www.who.is to investigate whether, all TDL (dotcom, dotnet, dotus, and others) already used or not.   Wish you luck

Yes, you can check it at www.uspto.gov. There you can check that for same name or related names.

I know this might sound silly, but if it's not registered to an company in the state and you're not about to spend a ton of money on the business, just start it and start making money first.   In the past I never worry about the name issues until my business is making a ton of money. One of my companies' name was even register to another company out of state and they really didn't care about me.   I ended up generating hundreds of thousands from that company and eventually sold it. So the moral of the story is make it a success and start.
