How do I obtain an 8(a) Clearance for my business? Does it require gov't sponsorship?

I recently started my business, and would like to obtain an 8(a) Clearance. Is this something that I would have to go through the government to obtain, or is there other options for me to obtain this? I currently hold a personal clearance, not sure if that would make a difference. Thanks for any feedback!
