I agree previous post here. Adsense is the basement option. It is very very hard to create any significant advertising revenue for your website. Unless you happen to have a ton of free traffic you get.   I would recommend you to focus on building a website that creates value first. Try to build the field first so to speak, and they will come. THen you can worry about how to monetize it. The way I see it, starting by thinking , what makes money on Adsense and I will do it, is not a long term strategy.

Start building keyword-rich pages containing well researched, profitable keywords, and get lots of high quality links to your site. For example, if your site is about topics such as debt consolidation, web hosting or asbestos-related cancer, you'll earn much more per click than if it's about free things. On the other hand, if you concentrate only on top-paying keywords, you'll face an awful lot of tough competition. What you want are keywords that are high in demand and low in supply, So do some careful keyword research before you build your pages.

I would say don't start with adsence until you learn a few things about it. And when you start before having mastered the area, start small and test,test,test. Then go with what works with increasing amounts of money, still testing and setting daily limits you can really afford. It's easy to lose your shirt if you don't know enough. You don't have to do everything he does, nor agree with all his methods. In fact, I would caution you to only stay on the safe side of this technique. But I really think that you need to learn what he has to say, if you plan to base your business in some part on adwords. I don't mean to single out Marshall, I'm sure there are other good people to learn from, but don't get into the info overload, either. That will keep you studying forever... Good luck. By looking to all of your answers, i am really demotivated many of you have negative points on adsense, but anyways i am interested in google adsense and want to know if some cheater clicking on my ads with the purose of banning my account so how can i save my account from google ban?, how can i tell google that cheater is cheating with me by clicking my ads?--Pls tell me!

It is said that only 2 - 5% of people visiting a site will click adsense. Which means than every 100 people, only 2 - 5 people will click your adsense.    Having said that If your site having less than 100 visitors a day, you will not make it much on living. Also, if you invite your friend to click your adsense, someday google will find out and your account will be banned forever.   I agree with mikeb, other things like affiliate marketing offer better return than adsense.

Yes, there is some good advice in amongst these answers. I started out about 18 months ago thinking I could build a site and make a heap on Adsense but realised it takes a lot of work. You have to get traffice to your sites and have a reason for people to go there - content or products that people are looking for. If you're committed to doing it tho, it's just about learning how - like anything worth doing. There are also many other ways of making money online also. Lots of targeted traffic combined with high paying keywords is the trick. It will take a lot of work, however. Don't let the term 'passive income' fool you as you have to be very active and work very hard to get passive.
