Another useful way of establishing links with designs that you like and would like to stock is by looking online for actual labels and finding out their selling policy. Once you have your foot in the door with one of the companies you are then able to show the others that you are a legitamate business and have a useful outlet  for their product.   Some smaller design labels will provide you with clothing on a payed on sale basis but you really are talking about much smaller labels (make sure you pay on a weekly basis if the sales are going through)   The other useful tool is Google, if you look for clothing wholesalers online you can soon build up a fairly established list of people all wanting you to stock their goods. Normally you have to come up with the initial outlay but that is whats expected with any business.

I'd check out some of the garmet districts, notably NYC and LA. I'd also try and find where the clothes you'd like to source are actually made, usually in China. Often, I've heard, these factories will make a few extras for outside companies when asked nicely. There are also some international trade websites that can help you find a provider. Hope this turned out well for you, it's a tough business though!

A good way to find wholesalers is to contact a manufacturer of the brand you want to sell and ask them if they sell in bulk (wholesale). If they don't, then ask for the the contact information of distributors/wholesalers that do. Make sure to have a tax ID number (EIN) and a sales tax certificate from your state. Real wholesalers won't sell to you if you don't have them.
