Your local library should have a subscription to databases, including ReferenceUSA, that you can use to obtain basic information about a business. ReferenceUSA contains information on over 14 million U.S. businesses. They can tell you the length of time in business, the name of the owner or principal, a general sales range, number of employees and similar information. They cannot provide information on complaints filed against the business, however. You need to obtain that from the Better Business Bureau. You may also be able to do a search on the web site of the agency that licenses businesses in CA. That will produce the name of the owner or principal, address, etc. If the business is a publicly held corporation, more information will be available than for a privately held company.

Hi ubok4sure, I think it is possible just check if they have online business (website) if yes, then check their website on Whois it will show you the date when the business started, Business owner name and physical address and detailed information about the owner.
