How to set up an importing company in California?

Hey, Everyone,

 

What is the way of setting up an import company in California? I'm a Marketing Associate for an Indian apparel accessories company, currently screening the market for our products. We manufacture mainly high quality leather belts, hand bags etc.

How are you doing with your olive oil import business? I just moved back to NY from Spain after 3 years there. I am looking to do the same, import olive oil but not sure if I should import myself or partner with someone who is already doing this. I have several of the largest producers and growers in Spain who want me to be their agent in USA. Would like to talk to you if you are still pursuing this business venture. Thanks, Ravi

Hi,   I am curious to the approach that you went with, as I am looking to do something similar, bu not in the apparels industry.  Not sure if there were any advantages to being an LLC or another type of corporation.   Appreciate any feedback.

Did you ever figure out what needed to be done and if so can you please assist me as well.  I'm starting an Olive Oil import business into the state of California and am interested in what paperwork is needed to be filed with the state and Federal gov't if any.  Thanks
