Having business credit will keep you from having to personally guarantee any financing you may need for your business.

Since you are looking to do temporary tattoos, I think you skip the health & safety stuff. Here in California there is no licensing other than your business name and I just recently created an LLC. Check witgh the local chamber of commerce for any licensing your state may require. As for starting your business, it is relatively simple. First, determine if you are going to focus your efforts on fairs & festivals, private events or both. This will help you determine which type of system to purchase. You will need: Stencils Temporary tattoo ink An airbrush tattoo delivery system (I can help you with this) Small compressor Airbrush guns Those are the main items you will need. There are things like alcohol swabs, towels, powder, Q-tips, etc that you can pick up inexpensively and will be necessary. You will notice I have given you different places to make the purchases and this is because these are the best products to buy and each company has their own merit. I would highly recommend NOT buying everything from any one of these companies. I have been doing this business 5 years now and it is a great business. There is more to business than having a good idea and buying equipment. This business is not for everyone as evidenced by the huge number of people who have come and gone. I'm not to sure of all the proper steps you'll need to take; you'll most likely need to get some sort of licence since tattoos have restrictions on using clean needles and such. Your best bet is to walk into a current tattoo parlor and simply ask someone inside of there; you'll need to do all the standard business setups like FEIN, LLC\S-Corp\Etc and probably some other type of licencing to legally do tattoos.
