I desperately want to start my own home business, but how do I get over the financial hump? It seems that the silent majority, including myself, think they have to finance their own business, which is impossible.
I suggest starting something part time on the side until you can completely
do it full time. Start something that will not cost a lot of money to start.
A couple of examples of this are a cleaning business, or maybe a pet sitting
business. Those are just a few examples. Work a full time job until you can
work your business full time.

In reality, most home-based businesses are self-financed. It is difficult for a home-based business to secure a loan unless you are willing to pledge your home, automobiles, or something else as collateral. You will need a good credit history as well. In today's economy, what was previously difficult has become even more restrictive.
