How will the Employee Free Choice Act affect small business?

From what I've read about this legislation it will allow the formation of a union through a 'card check' system in which the representing party need only to have 50% of employees + 1 sign a union card. This would, in my opinion, essentially eliminate the 'free choice' (secret ballet) that act claims to protect.
This seems to be a scary thing to most small business owners. It also gives the government the right to force the business and representing party into binding arbitration if a contract is not signed in 120 days. I think I can predict who that contract would favor.
My feelings aside I'd love to hear other's thoughts or insight on the topic.
