I have just finished HVAC Training from an accredited school and I have my diploma.  What would be the next step(s) so I can start working on A/C units on my own?

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but you should really work with an existing HVAC company for a few years prior to starting your own; especially if you are fresh out of school and training. This will give you hands on knowledge on actual repair situations, customer service and an idea of how the company needs to be ran to succeed.
