My name is George and I am currently a student at Devry University studying for my bachelors in Computer Information Systems with a major track in business management. I am trying to get advice in how to get seed money to start my non profit organization. How did you get money to start your organization? Any information in which you can provide me would greatly be appreciated. Thank you for your time. I need to find the start up funding or 'seed money' in order to pay for filing fees, ect. I have written a business plan, mission statement, projet budget, by-laws, ect. but in order to get funds from grantmakers or government grants I need the funds to register my tradename and finish the filing process.

Andy, any suggestions on how to get more targeted traffic aside from submitting articles to article directories and by setting up Squidoo lenses? Thanks

Hi George,   To you I would like to say that literally everything out there is available for free.   Getting starting capital can be quite hard I can imagine. All of the money I was able to invest in my business was generated online.   If you have waited all of your life to do this, then a few months extra waiting time won`t harm. In the meantime pursue the learning of the fine details in internet marketing and master how it`s done.   I assure you that you can make more money in that period of time than that any bank or institute would be willing to hand you in the form of credit or some sort.   Besides this, you will have the experience which is needed to succeed with your biz.   If you do not have any money to invest in this then start free. Use sites like blogger.com an wordpress.com, squidoo, hubpages and so on.   I know a person who managed to go from homeless to living in a villa with swimmingpool within a few years... all 100% internet sponsored.   You seem to be in a better starting position.   The best advise this guy gave me was:   Stop talking, start walking.   Choose a subject you are interested in or have knowledge about. Determine whether or not you are alone in this If so, choose a different subject If not, see whether or not there is 'money' in this niche. How? Go to Google. Type in the main keyword. Do you see Adwords ads to the right? If so, there is money. Find what they are advertising, sign up for affiliate program open a blog on blogger and wordpress, a lens on squidoo and a hub on hubpages. Make posts and articles with the main keywords in them and, of course monetize it with your affiliate links and or adsense code Then, EVERY post and article needs to be bookmarked with, again, as many bookmarking sites you can get your hands on. thanks for the info - I'm very interested in acquring web traffic and monetising it so I'm eagerly digesting all the vast innformation resources out there, and I'll include these to the list. The problem I find is that there is a lot of misinformation as well, which makes things tough. lilolme2121 and Andy, Can you recommend any good affiliate programs for the Mortgage/Loans/Refinance or insurance industries? I know that ultimately it's going to be about etting good traffic to the sites, but it doesn't hurt to line up good affiliates as well!

If you want more traffic and for free then I suggest you start with wordpress blogs. They are simply the best for SEO purposes and ease of use. I personally use them in all sorts of niches.   Here is how  easy it is to start:   Choose a niche. Create a Wordpress blog. Install all in one seo plugin, Google site map plugin, write a good piece of content, bookmark your posts and rinse and repeat.   Visit other blogs, comment on them with relative comments and so forth.   Should you want to get better rankings for your own business then I suggest you start a business blog. Determine the keywords you would like to be found on. Then, post as frequent as possible to your blog using the keywords you determined earlier. Every post should be bookmarked with as many bookmark pages and services as you know.   Submit your Rss feeds from your blogs frequently is also a good idea...   Whatever you do, choose your keywords carefully. Best is to choose keywords which have most of searches and least of competition.Sounds a bit obvious but still. Seek and you will find.   I suggest to keep writing articles however.   Google will reward your sites if you feed them with quality 100% unique content to spider and, loads of back links to your sites to make your site be noticed. There are several very successful ways about this.   Quality content and back links. That is how you get free traffic.   Squidoo is not the only property you can use for your efforts. Have a look. There are several so called web 2.0 properties that you can use.   I totally agree with what is said. You do not need gurus or tons of ebooks maxing your credit cards in order to succeed online. All info is to be found online and it is all more or less available for free.   Again:   Start a Wordpress blog on your own domain. Post a hefty piece of content with your main keywords in title and post. Bookmark to as many sites as you know using your main keywords. Post comments on blogs relevant to your niche ping your blog on pingoat.com etc. Create a few Blogger.com blogs related to your main site, with posts and links to your site Create a few Wordpress.com blogs related to your main site with posts and links to your site   Choose niches not too competitive and you should be seeing more and more traffic and should also be making money pretty soon.   Best way to a lot of traffic for free? A lot of hard work.   If the internet is the ocean, and the fish are its traffic, or web visitors... Then the sites you create will be your fishingnet.  The larger you spin your web to catch these fish, the more you will obviously catch... ;)   I hope I did not disappoint you with my answer.    

Focus on what's important and work hard and you will succeed. This applies to any task, including affiliate marketing. I just want to warn people that this is a lot of work, and you will be competing on a global scale (just like most internet based business). AndyFox, about your $1/month/site comment. This is not scalable at all. People will get the impression that they can just create hundreds of sites to earn hundreds or thousands per month. Running these many websites is more of a black hat technique, which I do not recommend.

If you want to get traffics from affiliate sites,you might as well track some auority sites that are related to your service. The traffics form sites like this weigh more than traffics gained from regular sites. fuel injectors --- This post was edited to remove a commercial link.
