Hello, my name is Priscilla Vandegrift, I am the co-founder of United Communication Service LLC. I am a child of a deaf adult also know as a (CODA). Growing up, I would help both my mother and father communicate to many different types of consumers through American Sign Language. I'm sure you can imagine how difficult that would have been being I was only 7-13 years old. I was able to see the struggle at a young age, so this field is not a business to me, it is my passion. My business partner and father of my two children, Joseph Vandegrift is a disabled veteran who served with the United States Army. With his leadership and guidance, alongside my passion for helping deaf/hard of hearing work together with hearing communities, we feel that starting an after-school program primarily focusing on introduction and post-secondary American Sign Language as well as leadership and decision-making for Elementary school-aged children, will only help "bridge the gap" between both communities.
