;m starting a new business that will deal with a multitude of internet retailers. -m wondering what kind of criteria I should consider when deciding on the credibility of an internet retailer. Are there any general rules of thumb concerning certain characteristics or accreditations to look for in an internet retailer to assure that I and my prospective clients are not getting involved with an untrustworthy or fly-by-night operation?
I'm unsure of government requirements, but here are some general signs of credibility for any business.
• Age of Business
• Physical Location?
• Age of Domain
• BBB Member
• Local Chamber of Commerce
• Hackersafe, Verisign or similar
• Live Chat
• 800 #
• Google search of company name/products
I would rather suggest you all to contact a representative of that organization and try to get as much information about that company as possible. If you are not satisfied at all, you should not make a decision in haste.

Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences! :) Anyone else have some advice to share with Stoshu?
First if all you might want to check and see if they are located on the United States Trade Patent Web Site most of these companies should have a trade mark name.
You might also see if they have a corp as well. If not stay away. The best source is to make sure they have a trade mark like all the products in the stores are all trade marks.
