A partner and I would like to start an antique import business. We currently
are operating by selling local antiques/wholesale home decor items, but
really want to be able to bring in other antiques from other countries. Are
there any organizations/programs that are designed to help starting this type
of business. We also may want to design our own line of reproductions in the
future and would need information on how to go about this as well.

center or a SCORE office in your area. They can advise you on local
resources. Many states have a division of international trade, often
associated with your state department of commerce, that can help with
importing. As Kmurray mentioned, there are stringent rules and regulations
for importing, particularly importing antiquities, so you will want to be
fully informed before expanding your product line.
