Hi jennysquare, You're correct that a corporate entity registers with the State, however a corporate entity also registers with the IRS by applying for an EIN (Employer Identification Number) also known as a Federal Tax ID Number. 984profits' corporate entity has an EIN and must continue to file both a State and Federal tax return until the entity is formally dissolved. If the corporation had no income in a given tax year, the federal tax is likely $0 (but the fed return must still be filed); and depending on the State, the corporation typically remains subject to a minimum net worth tax each year. I recommend that 984profits formally withdraw / dissolve the inactive corporation in its State, then file final' corporate tax returns.

There might be a special type of tax return you can file; however, a traditional tax return should be used since you'd obviously have some type of expenses related that calander year.
