Incorporating your business...

I am currently trying to start a small business out of my home. Currently,
I'm trying to figure out the business legalities. Usually I am a fast learner
on most subjects, however, when it comes to this portion, I'm stumped. To
explain what I'm thinking when asking myself how to do this, I am going to be
the only owner for this business. I do not want any family, friends, or
investors envolved. This is MY dream and MY doing. Stating that, and the fact
that I am a woman, I know to consider my business as self-employed and
woman-owned. But should I choose to call it a corporation or an LLC? I have
no clue what to do. Please help me figure this out.

what you plan to do in your business, you might want to start as a sole
proprietor, which requires only registering your business name, then later
convert to an LLC. The article referenced by KBurger will help you understand
the differences and make the right decision for your current circumstances.
