Does anyone know of particular grants or funding programs to fund a U.S.-based social enterprise focusing working with artisans in developing countries? As a for-profit social enterprise, we are open to equity investment but believe that our true social mission focus may qualify us for some grants or program related investments.
Has anyone had experience with any grants or social venture finance networks that may help us fund inventory/operations expansion? Relatedly, is anyone aware of a good resource for information on the new L3C structure for this type of business? All expertise is greatly appreciated!

The federal government does not provide grants for starting and expanding a business. However, some state and local programs provide grants for expanding child care centers; creating energy efficient technology; and developing marketing campaigns for tourism.
