Social media is becoming a popular and indispensible tool for today’s small businesses. Through websites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, business owners can promote products, communicate new information, and engage customers in a new, easily accessible way. However, using social media effectively to grow your business can be tricky, requiring strategy, research and planning.
Tell us:
- Which social media websites have you had the most success with?
- How do you use social media to engage and communicate with your customers?
- How do you integrate social media with other online mediums you may offer, like your website or blog?

Because only for both of these social networks the real learners & info
seekers comes. So they want some to gain from the internet. But for other
networks like Facebook & Tweeter the surfers comes only for fun. Not to gain
anything from the internet Actually I had a good results from linked in &
google+
In FB & Twitter there were only few.

that you find it? I decided about 9 months ago that I was no longer going to
use Twitter for marketing. It was to be my charity, I would dedicated to
solving issues within my professional niche and giving away solutions and
advice freely. My account of 255 followers now has over 9,000 and my reach
has extended past what anything I could have gained via traditional channels
and my budget. Stop the campaigns and start the conversations to win at
social media.

90% are actively engaged in social networking sites and 74% perceive social
networking as valuable — if not more valuable — than networking
in-person.
When 42% of owners say that 25% of new customers discovered them through
sites such as Facebook and Foursquare, it is crucial that your business is
online and social.
But the news is not all merry, as 58% of surveyed owners said they struggle
with promoting their Facebook pages — if they have a page at all.
The takeaway is clear. You need to be where your customers are. Forget what
your competitors are doing, as their customers are different from your
customers. You also need to integrate internet communications into your
normal routine of business networking.

Media. Lets face it, it's called "Social" for a reason. If you are a B2B
company, a linked in profile is enough in my opinion. If you are a B2C there
are some valid opportunities, but only if you have Mass appeal and a large
customer base.
