Social media is becoming a popular and indispensible tool for today’s small businesses. Through websites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, business owners can promote products, communicate new information, and engage customers in a new, easily accessible way. However, using social media effectively to grow your business can be tricky, requiring strategy, research and planning.
Tell us:
- Which social media websites have you had the most success with?
- How do you use social media to engage and communicate with your customers?
- How do you integrate social media with other online mediums you may offer, like your website or blog?

Media. Lets face it, it's called "Social" for a reason. If you are a B2B
company, a linked in profile is enough in my opinion. If you are a B2C there
are some valid opportunities, but only if you have Mass appeal and a large
customer base.

methods. Basically, we find others in the same niche and gain an audience.
Then we use it to leverage our products and services to those friends. We
have the buttons on our homepage and blogs for FB so others can intereact and
"like" our website page in FB. This has been done on all our projects.
Of course there are other social media websites that you can also look into.
We know they are out there but we are mainly concentrating on the big daddy,
FB where everybody seems to be on.

Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. I'm especially fond of Pinterest, as it's a
great place for business owners that are "content challenged". Winepine.com
offers wine crates. Not wine. It's easy to talk about wines. You have tasting
notes, specific vintages, grape types etc. Wine crates and wine boxes are a
little different, and people aren't too interested in the history of the
winery it's from. They're only interested in how it looks for the most part.
This is where Pinterest and the pictures come in. I often take the pictures
of the wine crates and apply them to our Twitter and Facebook pages. This
seems to work well with attracting new customers.
