For the first time since the 2008 financial crisis, there are signs that tight credit markets for small companies are loosening up. Banks are now approving almost 20% of Small Business Loans versus less than 15% same period last year. For small loans or project specific loans I would recommend going to your local bank. I have seen larger banks turn away loans based on the capital requirements of the borrower. A local bank will have a more flexible matrix and can find alternative forms of financing. Small banks issue nearly 50% of all small business loans.
