I need to know if licenses are needed to operate a recording studio. Do I need to worry about any ordanances or location? The internet is very vague in this regard. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated, and I thank you in advance.

You may also need a license for any songs you plan on recording that are not
public domain. Remember to check into that if this is part of your business
plan for the recording studio.
You will need to register your business name and entity type with your state
or county agency that handles such matters. You may also need a local
business license, which can be secured from your city clerk's office. To find
out about location issues, contact your city planning and zoning department.
If you start the business in a location not approved for such things, you
could be immediately closed down when the city finds you.
