Living Overseas What state do I register with initially???

Actually getting ready to launch a consulting business, but I'm still apprehensive of where "home" will be considered.  What kind of advice can you give?  My thoughts were that I would get registered and start the business in my current state, and then move overseas.  However, that's where I have all my questions.  Is there anything special I have to do on a state or federal level to make this happen?  Thanks in advance for the replies.
