Hi,
I am wondering if there are special loans out there for soldiers or a female
starting a business.
The business I would like to start or continue is lodging in a tourist area.
Thank you,

and / or military. But, that does not mean that any woman or soldier can just
walk in and get a loan. These loans still need to be underwritten which
requires you and your business to have great credit, great cash flow and a
lot of collateral.
I would suggest that you work with a local SBDC or SCORE office in developing
a business plan - to start or purchase a business. This is free help. They
will also be able to tell you about local resources that could help finance
your business.
If you are seeking to start your company, getting a business loan is nearly
impossible unless you have other sources of income. But, there are personal
sources that might be able to capitalize your company – you just have to
search and research to find the best one for you.
If you are looking to purchase an existing business - you might look into a
SBA loan (7(a) or 504 program) or seek to have the current owner finance it
for you (probably your best option).
As a veteran myself, I am sending out positive thoughts and wish you the
best. Know that, like in the military, it all comes down to how hard you are
willing to work at it to make it a success.
