You may want to consider purchasing an existing business through seller
financing. There are may advantages to this strategy to include purchasing a
business correctly will grant you a collateral object, which most lenders
will be requesting due to your personal credit deficiency.

lkl80 is right. You might want to start out with an online store such as an
amazon store to get you some capital for starting your business. The next
step when you get your website up and running is you have to be found in the

Anyways, try looking into becoming and amazon affiliate in the mean time. I

Your are probably NOT going to find a grant and with bad credit you are probably not going to get a loan - unless it is from someone you know or can be fully secured. You might think about finding a partner or co-signer - one who does not have bad credit then approach local banks who provide SBA loans. You might also look into the many USDA loan programs for rural areas and rural businesses.  These are great programs designed for business ideas just like you describe here.  However, you either have to fix your credit first or find some way to mitigate it (e.g. with a co-signer).

Grants are not generally availabe to start a for-profit business. Therefore, you will need to seek a loan from family, friends, or a bank. You might also contact the owner of the property and see if he/she might be willing to work out some sort of deal that would reduce your needed start-up capital. The place to begin is by writing your business plan. As mentioned in another post, a counselor at a SCORE or small business development center office can help and their services are free.
