Program description The federal Transportation for Elderly and Disabled Program provides funding to support transporting the elderly and/or disabled where public transportation services are unavailable, insufficient or inappropriate. The capital assistance program provides 80 percent federal funding upon a 20 percent local match to help agencies obtain vehicles and equipment.
